마인드맵으로 공부하는 신동욱 군
2주 전엔 한 차례 정리한 여러 장의 A4지를 꼼꼼히 살펴본 뒤 △학교 선생님이 나눠준 프린트 내용 △선생님이 수업시간에 강조한 내용 위주로 핵심만 간추려 새로운 A4지에 요약한다. 요약정리를 거듭할 때마다 꼭 기억해야 할 내용만 남겨 A4지를 줄여나가는 게 핵심.
시험 1주 전엔 시험범위 내용을 ‘마인드맵(핵심어를 연결해 교과 내용을 정리하는 방법)’으로 정리해 A4지 한 장에 담는다.
신 군은 “마인드맵은 전체적인 맥락과 단원 간 연관성을 파악하는 데 도움이 돼 시험 직전 총정리할 때 사용한다”면서 “시험문제를 풀다 어려운 문제에 맞닥뜨렸을 때 마인드맵을 머릿속에 떠올리면 문제해결의 실마리를 찾을 수 있다”고 설명했다.
신 군은 스스로 개발한 공부법을 활용해 중학교 3학년 1학기 중간고사에서 반에서 1등을 차지했고, 2학기 기말고사까지 한 번도 1등을 놓치지 않았다.
